Junior System Administrator

We have an opening for a Junior System Administrator within our IT Department in the firm's Newport Beach office. In a friendly and fun work environment, this position will provide the business knowledge and technical skills to implement technical strategies, evaluate products and provide a superior level of technical support. This position will be instrumental in leading efforts to automate and support operations. The Junior System Administrator must have basic knowledge gained through genuine involvement in the implementation of multiple solutions in a complex, multi-technology enterprise environment. This individual should be able to explain the complexities and implications of migration issues, testing, support, service level monitoring, and disaster recovery. This individual should demonstrate a proven willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.

Personal characteristics that will contribute to success in this position include one’s ability to maintain a focused work ethic, flexibility by being willing to adjust to changes in job requirements and scheduling, self-driven and organized, as well as maintaining confidentiality in all client and firm matters, and having the ability to communicate through internal and external situations both timely and effectively. Requirements include:

- Undergraduate degree in information systems or related field preferred. 

- Microsoft, Citrix, Cisco, or VMware Certifications preferred.

- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in IT systems administration and hardware and software installation and maintenance, in a PC/LAN-WAN environment.

- Extensive working knowledge of PCs, network hardware, operating systems, and software (including file server, gateways, workstation, printers, routers, UPS devices, patch panels, and switch & routing protocols).
