Biography
Michael McClellan is an associate in the Newport Beach office. Mr. McClellan represents businesses and individuals in state and federal court in civil litigation arising out of business, real estate, construction, and insurance disputes.
Mr. McClellan has represented plaintiffs and defendants in disputes involving breach of contract, negligence, construction defect, regulatory violation, misrepresentation, civil conspiracy, unfair business practice, wrongful death, nuisance, personal injury, and fraud.
Prior to joining Newmeyer & Dillion, Mr. McClellan worked at the Center for Constitutional Studies at the CATO Institute, on Capitol Hill, in the Office of Policy and Strategic Planning at the Department of Commerce, and for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Washington, DC.
Mr. McClellan was a 2005 Lincoln Fellow at the Claremont Institute, and his writings on public policy have appeared in various publications including the Weekly Standard, the Wall Street Journal, and on TCS Daily.
Mr. McClellan received his JD from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2005, where he made the Dean’s List and received the CALI “Excellence for the Future” Award in Contracts and Torts.
Mr. McClellan graduated with distinction in 2001 with a BA in History from Yale University, where he played football for four years.
