Biography

Greg Dillion is one of the founding partners of Newmeyer & Dillion LLP.

He specializes in the representation of developers, institutional lenders, general contractors and other businesses in complex business, construction and insurance coverage disputes.

Mr. Dillion has an active trial and appellate practice.  He has defended multimillion dollar plaintiff claims and obtained multimillion dollar plaintiff verdicts and hundreds of millions in settlements.  He is responsible for published decisions at the California Federal, Supreme Court and Appellate levels that have changed the course of California law.

Mr. Dillion received his Bachelor of Arts With Distinction in All Subjects from Cornell University where he was elected to and remains a member of the national Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and his Juris Doctorate with Honors from the University Of Texas School Of Law.  Mr. Dillion has for a number of years been named as one of the best lawyers in America in the national Best Lawyers in America peer review publication.  He also has for a number of years been named as one of the top 50 Orange County lawyers by the Super Lawyers California peer review publication and as one of the nation’s Top Lawyers in its national Business Edition (formerly the Corporate Counsel Almanac).  Mr. Dillion has been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society consisting of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers.  He also has been honored as a Father of the Year by the National Father’s Day Council in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association.

Mr. Dillion is admitted to practice in California, Colorado, and Texas.  He is a frequent speaker and author of numerous articles. In addition, Mr. Dillion is a contributing consultant for the CEB book on California Construction Contracts and Disputes.

Mr. Dillion is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Orange County Bar Association Real Estate and Litigation Sections, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Consumer Lawyers of California and the American Bar Association, the Building Industry Association - Orange County Chapter, and the Cornell Real Estate Council.
