Biography

Mr. Krolikowski joined the Newport Beach office in 2004 and heads the firm’s land use and eminent domain practice group.

Mr. Krolikowski has significant litigation and trial experience in the eminent domain, inverse condemnation, tort, real estate litigation and business litigation areas. To date, Mr. Krolikowski has tried more than 20 cases to verdict. For example, in 2010, Mr. Krolikowski obtained a $6.8 million dollar jury verdict in an inverse condemnation matter.  In 2009, Mr. Krolikowski settled an eminent domain matter, post trial, for more than ten times the amount offered by the public entity.  In 2008, Mr. Krolikowski successfully stopped an eminent domain taking at trial after the public entity failed to follow the proper precondemnation procedures. Also in 2008, Mr. Krolikowski tried a partition and breach of fiduciary duty case, which resulted (post-verdict) in a favorable settlement for his clients. In 2007 Mr. Krolikowski obtained a jury verdict for fraud, breach of contract and alter ego against a contractor and his company. In 2006 Mr. Krolikowski obtained an $8.5 million judgment for his client when the initial offer by the public entity was only $4.4 million. In 2005, Mr. Krolikowski settled an inverse condemnation matter for $2.5 million. In 2004, Mr. Krolikowski obtained a substantial jury verdict in a case concerning the construction of portions of the I-5 Freeway in Anaheim. In 2003, Mr. Krolikowski tried an eminent domain matter for an airport owner that resulted in a jury verdict six times the initial offer by the public entity. Also in 2003, Mr. Krolikowski tried a lease revaluation case on behalf of a property owner wherein the Court determined that the rent for the property should be increased from $1,166 per month to $30,000 per month.

Mr. Krolikowski received his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of California at Davis in 1992. Mr. Krolikowski obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California in 1996.

Mr. Krolikowski was admitted to the California Bar, the United States District Court, Central District and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1996. Mr. Krolikowski has been a licensed California real estate broker since 1997 and is a member of the International Right of Way Association.
