Biography
Ms. Samson is a partner in the Newport Beach office, specializing in real estate and land use.
Ms. Samson’s practice encompasses the acquisition, financing, entitlement, construction, leasing, operation and disposition of real property, including multifamily and retail properties, office buildings, industrial buildings and medical office buildings as well as undeveloped land and master-planned communities. Ms. Samson’s clients include real estate investment advisors, institutional investors, private equity funds and developers.
Recent representative transactions include the sale of a bond-financed apartment complex in Marina del Rey, California that was one of the largest multifamily transactions in California in 2010, the establishment of a multi-hundred million dollar revolving credit facility with Fannie Mae, the acquisition and leasing of a mixed-use project in Hollywood, joint ventures for the development of mixed-use projects in Texas and Washington, leasing/sales of medical office condominiums in Orange County, California, the acquisition and joint venture of a retail/multifamily/hotel project in Washington, and the sale of a portfolio of properties in The Woodlands, Texas that was the largest multifamily transaction in the United States in 2009.
Ms. Samson has received a number of professional honors, including being named to the roster of “Southern California Super Lawyers” from 2006 – 2010 by Law & Politics magazine, and as one of “Most Influential Women in Real Estate” by Real Estate Southern California magazine in 2005.
Ms. Samson is a member of the Urban Land Institute. She also is a former President of the Orange County Chapter of WCRE and a former member of the Board of Directors and a two-term President of the Orange County Forum.
Ms. Samson received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana in 1980, graduating Summa Cum Laude. In 1985, Ms. Samson received her Juris Doctorate from University of Notre Dame Law School, graduating Cum Laude. At Notre Dame Law School, she served on the editorial board of the Law Review and was the 1985 recipient of the A. Harold Weber Moot Court Award.
